Up All Night Music Video (FMP) [HD]

This was the main part of my final major project, a music video that illustrated the effects we as humans are having on the Earth and the environment. I filmed the band at a live performance gig and I was able to stay true to the cut and paste style I'd stuck with throughout this project by using frame by frame rotoscoping on all the members of the band. The images and film footage are from my own photography and filming around the city of Southampton.

Feels Like Home Album Art (FMP)

One of the main aspects of my project was creating the album artwork for Claydon Connor. He had given me rough examples on the sort of style he wanted for his album artwork however I was always keeping in contact with him suggesting new design ideas which could be relevant. I committed a lot of my own photography into the artwork experimenting with different techniques with both my photography and within Photoshop. Both my client and myself were extremely pleased with the final outcome. He sold his album at the Isle of Wight festival earlier this year where his album completely sold out.

Promotional Poster (FMP)

Again, as part of my FMP I set myself the task of creating a promotional poster that would advertise the release of Claydon's album. I tried to keep the poster true to the rest of the design style I had chosen for other products. I would describe this particular piece as a sort of organised mess where the I've used busy imagery contrasting against white, negative space.

Claydon Connor Photography

As part of my Final Major Project I was commissioned by a recording artist to do a photoshoot for him to use as promotional material as well as images that were to be used within the booklet.

Exhibition Postcard

For the Multimedia design and Graphic Image Making 2009 exhibitions all the students were asked to design a postcard that would be part of a book that would be given out to potential employers and guests. The brief was that the postcard had to have a phrase on it that would finish the sentence, "multimedia design is..."

Emily Berryman Photography

I was commissioned by a freelance model who wanted to add more depth to some of her photos.

Timeline

Also prior to starting our Final Major Projects we had to create a timeline representing research on our topic choice. Mine being music I create the timeline based on music formats over the years designed in the style of an equalizer.

Flow Chart

As part of our final major projects we had to create a flow chart representing our planning. I influenced by my topic (music) for the shape where I tried to illustrate the data within a vinyl record.

"Scribble" - Experimentation piece

For this piece experimented with photography and photoshop to create this quite interesting and colourful piece.

Type Experimentation

Here is an early piece I did experimenting with hand-drawn type. The sentence itself are lyric from a heavy song, and I tried to illustrate the style of song within the type.

Room 13 Logo

I commissioned by a DJ group called "Room 13" to create them a new logo. This was during the summer after the second year of university so i wanted to create something quite fresh looking which also could relate to the style of music they created.

Mixed Media Piece

This is a piece I created in the first year of uni, experimenting with different mark makings in order to create quite an interesting piece. I used paint, ink, a lighter, pen and photoshop to create this image.

DVD cover for Stalker Film

A DVD cover designed for my short film based on a fear.

Film entitled "The Stalker"

In the second year of university we had a brief that let us experiment using film as our medium. I had to communicate fear through a short one minute film. The fear I chose was the fear of being stalked.

Hi-Res Proposal Posters

This project involved us, the student, to research into a design company and then create two posters that illustrated what the company was about. Here are the two posters I created, done in a similar style to that of Hi-Res.

Run Lola Run Storyboard Proposal

For this project the brief was to create a storyboard for the film "Run Lola Run" This again was quite an early piece when I was at university. I used experimentation of both type and photosgraphy to create this idea of speed and running.

Arms Trade

Here are a couple of pieces I did early on at university as well where I created posters that illustrated the amount of money that goes into the arms trade. I thought the images were strong enough pieces on their own without having any kind of typography.

99 Degrees

This was a project I did very early on in the first year of university. Each student was given a different compass degree to follow and the brief was to follow this particluar degree bearing and make a book based on your findings. This was my book where I had the degree of 99 degrees. Also to help tell the story of my degree I had a poem running throughout describing my findings. By creating my book in a unique circular format I felt it had a strong relation to the shape of compass itself.
